Frequently Asked Questions

About the Value Index

What is Valor's Value Index?

Valor's Value Index gives you a clear picture of what your business is worth today. You answer questions about your activity, sales, costs, assets, debts, customers, and growth — then get a report showing your business's value, its range, and what raises or lowers it.

Why do I need to know my business's value?

Because value isn't only a question for sale. You need it when you're thinking about financing, partnership, expansion, exit, or even setting next year's priorities. Knowing your value helps you see your business the way an investor, lender, or buyer sees it.

How does it help me develop my business?

It gives you a practical answer: where do I focus first? Sometimes raising profit matters more than raising sales. Sometimes documenting contracts matters more than opening a new branch. Sometimes reducing your business's dependency on you raises value more than a marketing campaign. The report helps you tell a good step from one that actually raises value.

Is the Value Index only for selling?

No. It's a management and planning tool first, a sale tool second. Use it to understand where your business stands, what sets it apart, what weakens it, and what needs work before financing, partnership, expansion, or exit.

Who benefits from the Value Index?

Business owners who want to understand their company's value before a major decision. Advisors who need a report to help explain value to a client. Investors or buyers who want a first read before negotiation or due diligence.

Does business value mean sale price?

No. Value is a baseline for negotiation, not a final sale price. Deal price depends on payment terms, speed of execution, guarantees, number of buyers, and market conditions at the time of the deal.

What if the value is lower than I expected?

What matters most is knowing why. The issue could be profitability, dependency on one large customer, weak financial records, the business depending on you, or slow growth. When you know the reason early, you have time to fix it before any negotiation.

Methodology & Sources

How does Valor calculate business value?

Valor doesn't rely on a single method. The Value Index uses 5 methods depending on your business: market comparables, discounted cash flow, asset value, exit value, and calibration against any prior deal or investment round if one exists.

Do you compare my business to similar ones?

Yes. Our comparisons draw on data from 27,000+ companies listed in emerging markets (Damodaran, January 2026), including the Saudi stock market, plus comparable Saudi and international companies and Saudi acquisition and investment deals. Comparisons account for activity, business size, sales, profit, and sector dynamics. A small restaurant isn't compared to a software company, and a clinic isn't read like a factory or an e-commerce store.

What data sources does Valor rely on?

Valor draws on multiple market and sector sources, including Tadawul, GASTAT, Monsha'at, Bloomberg, Damodaran, and specialized local and international reports. Not every source appears in every report. The right source depends on the activity, business size, and quality of available information.

Is the methodology aligned with international standards?

Yes. Valor's methodology is informed by international valuation references, including IVS 2025 and the IPEV Dec 2025 guidelines for private companies. This gives the report a clearer professional framework, but it does not make it an accredited valuation from a licensed authority.

How accurate is the result?

Accuracy depends on the clarity of your numbers. If your information is limited, the report shows a wider range. If your sales, costs, assets, liabilities, and customers are clearer, the result becomes more precise and more useful for your decision.

Is this an accredited valuation?

No. The Value Index is not an accredited valuation from the Saudi Authority for Accredited Valuers, and it is not issued by a licensed valuer. Use it for understanding, planning, prioritizing, and preparing for discussion. Official procedures, disputes, ownership transfers, or any party that requires an accredited valuation will need a licensed valuer.

The Full Report

What's the difference between the free index and the full report?

The free index gives you a first read on value, with one main strength and one main area to improve. The full report goes into detail: why your business reached this value, how it compares to its sector, what raises its value, and what you can improve over the coming period.

What does the full report include?

It includes your business's value and range, the valuation methods used, a sector comparison, analysis of sales and profit, the impact of assets and debts, and improvement points with an approximate value impact. It also shows how value may differ by buyer type: income investor, owner-operator, growth investor, institutional buyer, or strategic buyer.

How does the report help me plan?

It doesn't stop at the value alone. It shows what's worth focusing on: improving profitability, organizing financial records, reducing founder dependency, diversifying customers, documenting contracts, or building an edge that makes the business stronger in front of an investor, lender, or buyer.

How does it help me develop the business?

It helps you pick the development steps that actually move your business's value. The difference might be in pricing, recurring contracts, team productivity, the sales model, partnerships, or expanding to new branches. The idea is to know what's worth your time and effort.

Can I use it with an investor, bank, or advisor?

Yes. You can use it as a basis for discussion with an investor, lender, accountant, advisor, or potential buyer. The report helps you explain your business's value and the reasoning behind it. But it doesn't substitute for an accredited valuation if the party requires an official report from a licensed valuer.

Can I download or share the report?

Yes. You can view the report in your browser, save it as a PDF using the «Print / Save PDF» button, or copy the link and share it directly with your accountant, advisor, or a potential investor. The link is secure — only people you share it with can open it.

Can I control who opens the report link?

Yes. From «My orders» in your account you can: - Create multiple labeled links — one per person you share the report with (e.g., «Ala — Advisor», «Numuw Fund») - Stop any link individually without affecting the others - Set an expiration date per link (7, 30, or 90 days, or no expiration) - See a simple stat showing how many times each link has been opened and when it was last viewed We don't store any personal viewer data.

What does «3 updates» mean in the full report?

The report price includes updating it after it's issued. If your numbers change or you get more accurate figures, edit your inputs and regenerate the report — up to 3 times in total. Each time you get an updated value and analysis based on your new numbers, at no extra cost.

Required Inputs & Activities

What do I need to get started?

You need basic information about your activity, city, business age, sales, growth, and some assets. For the full report, it's better to have clearer information on costs, profits, debts, customers, contracts, and forecasts. You don't need to be an accountant. Use the closest figure you know if you don't have an exact number.

Do I need audited financial statements?

No. Audited statements are not a requirement. Having them raises confidence in the report, because the numbers are clearer and easier to defend. But you can start with the figures you have.

Does the Value Index cover my activity?

The Value Index covers 80 economic activities inside Saudi Arabia. If you don't find your activity exactly, choose the closest activity or «Other activity». The closer the classification matches your business's nature, the better the comparison.

What if my business is new or unprofitable?

If your business has sales but weak profits, the report can show how that affects value and what needs improvement. If you have almost no sales, the value will mostly be based on assets, intellectual property, or forecasts. In that case the margin of error is higher.

Payment & Privacy

How much does the full report cost?

The full report is 999 SAR, or 699 SAR for small and medium businesses that enter their CR number at checkout. The final cost is shown to you before payment.

What payment methods are available? Can I get a refund?

You can pay through the payment methods available on the platform. Because the report is issued after the analysis is prepared, refunds are not accepted once it has been delivered. If we are unable to issue the report due to a technical issue on Valor's side and cannot resolve it, you are entitled to a refund.

How does Valor handle my business information?

Valor uses your business information to issue the report, run the service, and improve the quality of results, in line with the Terms and Privacy Policy. Payment is processed through an independent payment provider, so you don't need to enter your card details inside Valor's systems. You can request deletion of your information through the official support channel.
